Man charged in Southside Cinema shooting

Kinte Smith is led away from Magistrates Court Monday morning
A 25-year-old accused of attempting to shoot a couple dead as they left a cinema was yesterday charged in Magistrates’ Court.Kinte Smith, 25, of Curving Avenue, Pembroke, was not required to enter a plea, as his case is indictable and must go before the Supreme Court.He is the third man to be charged in connection with the shooting of Shaki Minors and his pregnant girlfriend Renee Kuchler outside the Southside Cinema on November 13, 2009.Mr Smith is charged with two counts of attempted murder, as well as possession of a firearm and possession of ammunition. Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner remanded him back into custody.He will return to court on March 28 to be given a date for trial.
