Inmate gets more jail time for selling drugs

A 19-year-old Sandys man has had his term in Westgate extended after admitting to selling drugs.Jahdeko Fubler is currently serving an 12-month sentence for assault, which was to end next May.He was given an extra three months in Magistrates’ Court after pleading guilty to possession of cannabis with intent to supply.The court heard that on February 13, a police car on Middle Road in Southampton was overtaken at high speed by a motorcycle driven by Fubler.He was searched after being pulled over at the junction with Alton Hill.Police found a bag of 13 twists containing 43 grams of cannabis in a compartment on the bike. Arrested and interviewed at Somerset Police Station, Fubler said: “I’m just a young guy trying to make some money.”Fubler told Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner that he had been trying to make extra to pay for court fines.Mr Warner sentenced him to three months; the term is to run consecutive to his current sentence.
