Paget man had cannabis in his underwear
A 21-year-old Paget man was fined in Magistrates’ Court after he admitted having cannabis in the Hamilton Police Station.
Sergio Robinson pleaded guilty to possessing a controlled substance on November 27, 2010.
Crown counsel Kirsty-Ann Kiellor told the court that on that date, police arrested Robinson on an unrelated matter and took him to Hamilton Police Station.
She said that while police were searching Robinson, he pulled his boxer shorts away from his body and officers noticed a plastic twist in his underpants.
Asked about it, Robinson smiled at the officers and said: “I forgot about that.”
Robinson pleaded guilty and then apologised to the court and his family, saying: “I smoke occasionally. It’s not a habit, but I shouldn’t go around doing it.”
Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner fined Robinson $1,000 for the offence.
