A drunk driver told police who stopped him after he crashed into a hedge: “Arrest me, arrest me. I was trying to get some p*ssy.”Brian Gibbons, 37, went on to swing at a female police officer and had to be sprayed with incapacitant spray twice before he could be taken into custody.Gibbons, from St George’s pleaded guilty to impaired driving, violently resisting arrest and driving without a licence when he appeared in court.Prosecutor Maria Sofianos said police spotted him on Somerset Road at 1.30am on Monday, at the wheel of a car that was veering across the road. They spoke to Gibbons after the vehicle collided with a hedgerow. His response was to tell them: F**k. I’m just trying to get some p*ssy.” He went on to make similar remarks and admitted he’d had “one or two” drinks that night. He refused to be handcuffed, swung at a female police officer and tried to escape from the police car, according to Ms Sofianos. It was later discovered that he was not licensed to drive.Gibbons also pleaded guilty to a previous offence of failing to wear a seat belt on October 5. Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner fined him a total of $1,800, banned him from driving for a year and meted out nine demerit points.Gibbons must pay the fines by December 15, or face jail.
