A 22-year-old man was charged in Magistrates’ Court with bringing more than 2,000 grams of cannabis to the Island four years ago.Vincent Hewey, of Fenton Drive, Pembroke, was charged with importing the drug on December 17, 2008.He was further accused of possessing cannabis with intent to supply on the same date.The quantity of drugs involved is said to be 2,165 grams.Mr Hewey was not required to enter a plea as the matter is considered indictable only.Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo remanded Mr Hewey into custody until February 24 for mention in Magistrates’ Court.
