Man on two charges of attempted murder

A 23-year-old man has appeared in Magistrates’ Court on two charges of attempted murder.

Devon Hewey, of Palmetto Road, Pembroke, was also accused of using a firearm to commit the offences.

No plea was entered, as the charges are indictable only and must be dealt with by the Supreme Court.

He is charged with attempting to murder Lavon Thomas, and Darren Thomas, on March 24 in Pembroke.

Mr Hewey, who is represented by lawyer Shade Subair, was remanded by Magistrate Archibald Warner for a court mention on Tuesday.

Also according to police, a second man has been arrested in connection with the incident, and is being held in custody.

No injuries were linked to that incident, in which windows were shot out at the nearby Seon Place building.
