Pair charged with Good Friday 2010 murder

Two men were yesterday charged with murdering Kimwandae Walker more than two years ago on Good Friday.David Jahwell Cox, 32, and Julian Marcus Washington, 23, were charged in Magistrates’ Court with premeditated murder.Mr Cox, of Smith’s, and Mr Washington, of Pembroke, were further charged with using a firearm to commit an indictable offence premeditated murder on the same date.Both men appeared in custody and remained silent throughout proceedings.Neither was required to enter a plea as the matter is indictable and must be heard by the Supreme Court.Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner remanded both Mr Cox and Mr Washington into custody until June 15, when the matter will return to Magistrates’ Court for mention.Mr Walker, 35, was fatally shot by two men on a motorcycle on April 2, 2010. He was flying kites with his children on Victor Scott Primary School field in Pembroke at the time.
