A 63-year-old man has been charged in Magistrates’ Court with sexual exploitation of a young person.The defendant was charged with one count of touching a ten-year-old girl on her private parts, another count of touching the girl indirectly on her thighs, and a third count of unlawfully assaulting the complainant.The offences are said to have occurred between September 1 2011 and December 31 2011.The defendant denied the charges.Neither the defendant nor the victim can be identified for legal reasons.Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner set bail at $25,000 with one surety on the condition that the defendant must not in any way interfere with the complainant or the proceedings.The matter was set for trial on November 30.
