Man threw glass bottles at former boss
A Warwick man who threw bottles at landscaping boss Jefferson Sousa pleaded guilty in Magistrates’ Court to threatening behaviour.Dimitri Robinson, 33, of Spring Hill, told the court he had struggled with alcoholism for 16 years and wanted help.He admitted arriving at Sousa’s Landscaping, in Southampton, on May 9 and cursing at Mr Sousa, his former boss, who repeatedly asked him to leave.Robinson, who appeared intoxicated, told Mr Sousa “I will continue stealing from you” as he walked away.Crown counsel Susan Mulligan said Robinson then threw four glass bottles, which landed close to the other man’s feet.Police later heard the complaint, and arrested Robinson on May 31.Ms Mulligan noted his “substantial record”, adding that all seemed to be alcohol related.Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner questioned whether Robinson really wanted help.Mr Warner observed that in 2008, Robinson had taken jail time for a dishonesty offence. He ordered a substance abuse report and social enquiry, and released Robinson on $2,000 bail, setting a next court date for October 31.
