Bottle attack man freed after one-month in jail

A Warwick man who threatened One Bermuda Alliance candidate Jefferson Sousa has been freed after spending just over a month in jail.Dimitri Robinson, 33, of Spring Hill, was jailed after he was unable to raise bail on September 20.He’d earlier pleaded guilty to threatening his former boss, owner of Sousa’s Landscaping.Mr Sousa will run in the General Election as a candidate in Warwick West, constituency 28.Robinson vowed to steal from him on May 9, then threw bottles at Mr Sousa, after turning up drunk at his old workplace.At his sentencing in Magistrates’ Court, Robinson told Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner: “It was very stupid, what I done.”Noting that Robinson has struggled with a drinking problem, Mr Warner said: “You should be dried up by now.”He sentenced Robinson to 30 days’ imprisonment for each of two counts of threatening behaviour to be served concurrently, which means he already served his time.
