Judge declares mistrial in home invasion case

The trial of three men charged with a home invasion yesterday ended abruptly in a mistrial.Terrence Christopher, Tyrone Pedro, 22, and Shayne James, 19, have denied charges of using an imitation firearm and aggravated burglary related to an April 2 incident in Devonshire.The prosecution was yesterday continuing its case when at around 12.15pm, Puisne Judge Charles-Etta Simmons dismissed the jury, declaring the matter a mistrial.The reason for the decision cannot be published at this time for legal reasons. It has not been revealed by the Department of Public Prosecutions if they will bring the matter to a retrial.All three defendants were released on bail.
