A 21-year-old Sandys man was remanded in custody today on serious assault charges.Khyri Williams-Smith was formally charged in Magistrates' Court with assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm to Nathaniel Ingham on December 6.The attack took place outside Woody's Bar and Restaurant.The victim, who sustained severe head injuries, was airlifted to a US medical facility where he remains in critical condition.The defendant was not required to enter a plea to the indictable offence. The case will go to Supreme Court.Mr Williams-Smith, who was unrepresented in court today, indicated that he intends to retain lawyer Marc Daniels.Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner remanded the accused in custody. The case was set down for mention on December 24 as the investigation continues.
