Man fined for cursing at Police

Mixing alcohol with medication sparked an offensive tirade at police, a St George’s man told Magistrates’ Court.Alexander Christopher, 44, of Talavera Lane, apologised before Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner for the March 22 offence.According to Crown counsel Geoffrey Faiella, police were summoned at 11.20pm to Spring Garden on Washington Lane in Pembroke, to help security escort a man off the premises.After cursing repeatedly at police, Christopher told them: “F**k you, Parkside is dark side!”The court heard that officers informed Christopher that they took offence, but were then told “f**k you”. Christopher was arrested.The defendant told Mr Warner: “It was my first time out drinking in a minute, and I was on medication for tooth surgery. I shouldn’t have been drinking — I don’t know what happened.”Christopher was given a fine of $500, or 30 days in prison, with 30 days to pay.
