Man charged over jet ski road accident
A 43-year-old Southampton man was formally charged in Magistrates’ Court yesterday with causing serious injury to a motorist by driving in a dangerous manner.
McNeil Wilson was not required to enter a plea to the indictable offence which will go to the Supreme Court.
He was charged with causing bodily harm to Harold Talbot by recklessly driving in a dangerous manner on July 7, 2012.
The accident occurred on Somerset Road around 6.15pm near Heydon Gardens when a jet ski being towed fell off the trailer into the path of the motorcycle travelling behind it.
The victim, a 51-year-old Sandys resident sustained serious leg injuries and was subsequently airlifted to a US facility for treatment.
The defendant indicated in court yesterday that he was represented by lawyer Craig Attridge.
Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner adjourned the case for mention on April 19 and released the defendant on $5,000 bail with one surety.
