Smith’s man admits threatening bar manager

A Smith’s man was yesterday given a conditional discharge after he admitted threatening a bar manager in front of police.Kijuan Franks, 32, pleaded guilty to uttering threatening words to Shawn Smith in Devonshire on Saturday.The court heard that at around 9.40pm, officers received a report of an unruly patron at the Police Recreational Club. They found Franks in the parking lot in a very agitated state.Mr Smith pointed out Franks to police, at which point the defendant approached Mr Smith and said: “I will f*** you up. Wait till I see you again.”Franks was arrested. When interviewed by police he said: “I said I would f***ing slap him. I didn’t say I would f*** him up.”Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner noted Franks’ early guilty plea and clean record.He gave him a 12-month conditional discharge and a warning: “If you continue to do this you are going to end up sleeping in police cells.”
