Murder case put on hold

Two men charged with the 2010 gun murder of Kimwandae Walker have had the case against them put on hold in the Supreme Court.Westgate inmate David Cox, 33, and Julian Washington, 23, of Pembroke, had been jointly accused of the April 2, 2010 murder of Mr Walker — as well as the use of a firearm to commit the offence.Crown counsel Garrett Byrne told Puisne Judge Carlisle Greaves that the Department of Public Prosecutions had now opted not to pursue the case.However, Mr Justice Greaves warned both men: “This does not mean they cannot prosecute you for this matter in the future.”Cox is currently serving 38 years’ imprisonment for the shooting murder of Raymond (Yankee) Rawlins.
