Mexican resident fined for drugs offence

A 34-year-old Mexican national received a $500 fine after being found by police officers on a bathroom floor with drug paraphenalia next to him.

Responding to a call at 11:45am, police officers found Juan Olvera, of Warwick, on the floor of a Sandys residence in June this year with a syringe and a spoon next to him.

Olvera told the court that he is currently sober and “has been working very hard” since the incident.
