Two teenagers have denied snatching an elderly woman’s purse as she was walking toward a Pembroke nursing home.

Marcus Tucker, 19, and Kairi Tucker, 17, appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday accused of snatching a 76-year-old woman’s purse, robbing her of $150 cash and personal items.

Prosecutor Susan Mulligan told the court the woman was walking along Parsons Road, Pembroke, on November 11 when she felt a tug on her purse from behind. Two men struggled with the woman, eventually taking the purse from her and escaping on foot.

Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner remanded the men into custody until November 28.
