A Pembroke man has denied importing Vermillion snapper and selling it without identifying the fish as imported.

Michael Barnes, captain of the fishing boat Vitamin Sea, also denied further charges of falsely selling the snappers as ‘fresh’ and failing to keep a proper record of his boat’s catch.

The offences are alleged to have occurred in February.

Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner released Mr Barnes on $2,000 bail and adjourned the trial to April 3 next year.
