Woman charged with stealing from dentists

A Paget woman was accused of stealing more than $434,000 from a local dentists’ surgery when she appeared in Magistrates’ Court this morning.

Devore Brangman, 53, is charged with 12 counts of taking or stealing the money from the Bermuda Oral Surgical Centre on various dates between July 26, 2007 and 2011.

The court heard that the amounts allegedly taken ranged from $2,797 to $217,000.

Ms Brangman was not required to enter a plea because the charges are indictable and will be tried in Supreme Court.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo released Ms Brangman on $100,000 bail with a like surety and adjourned the matter to April 15 for mention.
