Pembroke teen accused of affray discharged

A Pembroke teen accused of fighting another woman on Front Street has been discharged.

Magistrates’ Court heard this morning that the Crown would be offering no evidence against Jazz Shiell.

The 19-year-old had been charged with taking part in a fight outside the Bermuda Bistro at the Beach on November 5.

Co-defendant Karen Day, a travel journalist who had been visiting the island from the United States, pleaded guilty to the offence on November 7, although she maintained that it was an “exchange of words” rather than a physical fight. She received a 12-month conditional discharge.
