A drunk motorcyclist fell over twice after he was stopped by police following a crash.

Timothy Hadler, 47, from Paget, pleaded guilty in Magistrates’ Court to providing a breath sample above the legal limit.

Hadler was arrested after his motorcycle collided with another vehicle on Middle Road, near Chapel Road, on April 25. Police noticed Hadler smelt of alcohol and that his speech was slurred. The court heard that Hadler fell over twice while trying to pick up his motorcycle.

He told police that he had drank “two beers”.

A later breath test showed 209 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The legal limit is 80/100.

Hadler apologised to the court for his actions.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo fined Hadler $1,200 and banned him from driving for 18 months.
