DCFS assistant director to stand trial
The assistant director of the Government's child protection agency will stand trial in October charged with assault and mistreatment of a child, it was ruled yesterday.
Kennette Robinson, 51, from Devonshire, pleaded not guilty to the charges on December 5 and opted for trial in Magistrates' Court.
The offences are alleged to have happened on May 8 last year in St George's.
The alleged victim, a girl aged 17 at the time, cannot be identified for legal reasons.
Ms Robinson will return to court on October 19.
Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo extended Ms Robinson's $1,000 bail.
