A man and a woman denied involvement in an alleged $65,000 money laundering scheme.

Judah Roberts, 25, from Smith’s, pleaded not guilty in Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday to the transfer of $65,000 in cash that he knew or suspected was the proceeds of criminal activity to Angela Simons.

Ms Simons, 58, from Devonshire, pleaded not guilty to receiving cash that she knew was the proceeds of criminal activity.

The incident is alleged to have occurred on June 27 last year.

Magistrate Tyrone Chin released both defendants on $10,000 bail and adjourned the case until January 18.

He ordered the pair to report to Hamilton Police Station twice a week.
