Woman fined for having two people in her home during stay at home order

A woman was fined $3,000 yesterday after she admitted she had two guests at her house during the last Government “stay at home” order.

Magistrates’ Court heard that police went to a Southampton house after they got a call about a potential breach of the Covid-19 regulations.

Kara Lindo, 29, admitted she had had two visitors.

The incident happened on April 29.

Lindo apologised for the incident and told the court that the two people were neighbours and friends.

Senior magistrate Juan Wolffe ordered her to pay the fine by August 2.

The other two people involved have still to appear in court.
