Man admits having crack pipe

Magistrates' Court (photo by Glenn Tucker)

A 59-year-old man pleaded guilty yesterday to owning a home-made pipe intended for the misuse of a controlled drug.

Maria Sofianos, for the Crown, told Magistrates’ Court that Anthron Dill, from Pembroke, attended Hamilton Police Station on September 1, 2021 in connection with another matter.

While at the station, officers observed Dill behaving strangely and fidgeting with something in his pocket. They ordered that he remove everything from his pockets.

One of Mr Dill’s pockets had a broken glass bottle with a Brillo pad, which was later revealed to be a home-made pipe containing trace amounts of crack cocaine.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo fined Dill $500.
