A St George’s man pleaded not guilty yesterday to causing grievous bodily harm to a woman bike rider by driving his car without due care and attention.

Rico Pitcher, 27, chose to have his case heard in Magistrates’ Court and denied the charge.

The incident, in which Nailah Jawaheer was the alleged victim, occurred on October 16 last year on North Shore Road in Hamilton Parish, the court was told.

Mr Pitcher was also charged with driving while influenced by alcohol, refusing to take a breath test and driving an unlicensed and uninsured vehicle, all on the same October date. He denied these charges as well.

Magistrate Tyrone Chin adjourned the case to November 21 and released Mr Pitcher on $3,000 bail until that time.
