A former OBA government minister has been charged with injuring a woman through dangerous driving.

Leah Scott, 63, from Sandys, denied the offence yesterday when she appeared in Magistrates’ Court.

The incident, in which Kylah Stowe is the alleged victim, happened in September last year on Somerset Road.

Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson adjourned the case to January 16 and released Ms Scott on $3,000 bail.

First elected as the area MP for Southampton East Central in 2012, Ms Scott served as Minister without Portfolio and Junior Minister for Education under the One Bermuda Alliance Government.

She was Deputy Opposition Leader from 2018 until losing her seat to the Progressive Labour Party’s Jason Wade in 2020.
