Fine and ban for drink driver seen going in wrong direction on one-way road

Magistrates' Court

A man who drove in the wrong direction on a one-way road was today banned from driving all vehicles for 18 months.

Kishi Trott, 40, from Smith’s, pleaded guilty to driving while impaired by alcohol when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court.

The court heard that police were on Angle Street in February 2019 and saw Trott riding his bike towards them.

They stopped Trott and noticed that his eyes were red and his speech was slurred. He was disqualified from the roads at the time of the incident and admitted to drinking before getting on his bike.

In addition to the ban, Trott was fined $1,200.
