Crash rider banned from driving

Magistrates' Court

A woman who struck a van while riding her bike has been banned from driving motorcycles for six months.

Mya-Erin Thompson, 24, from Devonshire, pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention when she appeared in Magistrates’ Court.

The court heard that in April 2021, Thompson was turning from Deepdale Road on to Parsons Road and hit the van that was heading west.

Thompson’s right leg was bruised and both vehicles were damaged in the collision.

In addition to being banned, Thompson was fined $750.
