Speeder pays steep price for questioning ticket

Magistrates' Court

A man who was caught riding his bike while influenced by alcohol has been banned from the roads for 18 months.

Raguel Dill, 24, from Sandys, admitted the offence when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

The court heard that in April 2022, police stopped and ticketed Dill after he was caught speeding at 77km/h near the Port Royal fire station.

Dill returned to the location a short time later to question the officers about the ticket.

At that time, police smelt alcohol on his breath and took him to the Hamilton Police Station.

In addition to being banned, Dill was fined $1,500.
