Bail hearing for attempted murder case adjourned
A man from Warwick has denied attempted murder and had his case for a bail application adjourned.
John Glasgow, 43, was accused of attempting to cause Roderick Newman’s death in Warwick on September 12 last year, as well as using a firearm while committing an indictable offence, when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court in January.
Mr Glasgow pleaded not guilty to all the offences during the Supreme Court arraignment session yesterday.
The court heard that Mr Glasgow shot and injured Mr Newman at about 8.55pm.
A police investigation led to the arrest of the defendant eight days later at his home, where a firearm was recovered in the basement. The weapon was forensically linked to the shooting.
Puisne Judge Alan Richards set a mention for bail application for May 8.
In a separate matter, Densil Gibbons, 43, from Devonshire, denied causing grievous bodily harm by stabbing Jachael Gibson in the chest after a verbal altercation on September 15, 2023.
The matter is to be mentioned for case management on July 4.
