Two charged with cocaine conspiracy
Two foreigners are accused of conspiring to import freebase cocaine into Bermuda.
Pamela Gomez Alanzo, 21, and Luis Roberto Gomez Paniagua, 46, were charged with conspiring with others to import the substance, as well as possessing it with intent to supply, when they appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
The conspiracy reportedly occurred between an unknown date and April 29, the day Ms Alanzo, from the Dominican Republic, and Mr Paniagua, from Spain, allegedly had the drug.
As the case must be heard in the Supreme Court, the accused were not required to enter a plea.
Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson adjourned the case to the July arraignments and remanded both defendants in custody.
