Bar burglar sentenced to six months in prison
A man who stole alcohol from a St David’s business has been sentenced to six months behind bars.
Desai Jones, 51, admitted trespassing on and stealing $705 worth of alcohol from Sunjammers Bar and Grill when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court in March.
Jones, who committed the offence on September 7 last year, had been ordered to participate in Drug Treatment Court but was considered unsuitable and was resentenced yesterday in court.
Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson ordered Jones, from St George’s, to complete two years of probation after being released from prison.
Conditions include staying away from alcohol and illegal drugs and participating in programmes recommended by his probation officer.
