Man incurs road ban for high-speed offence

A man who drove at almost three times the legal speed limit in Sandys has been banned from driving for six months.

Keith Bean Jr, 26, admitted speeding at 98km/h when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

Bean, from Sandys, committed the offence on July 19, 2022 and pleaded guilty to several other traffic offences, including driving an unlicensed and uninsured vehicle and having no driver’s licence.

Magistrate Auralee Cassidy fined Bean a total of $2,580 — $580 for the speeding — and added several points to his licence.
