A man was charged today with murder in connection with the death of a woman who was found unresponsive in Warwick last week.

Jamie Cann Jr, 30, appeared in Magistrates’ Court, where he was charged with murdering 29-year-old Honnée Smith on May 8.

Mr Cann, of no fixed abode, was not required to put in a plea today as the case must be heard in the Supreme Court.

Magistrate Craig Attridge adjourned the case to the July arraignments session and remanded Mr Cann in custody until that time.

Ms Smith was discovered at about 11.30am on May 8 on a rocky embankment just off the trails near Warwick Playground.

Her death in hospital was announced the next day.
