Teenager charged with murder of Ethan Arruda
A teenager was charged with the murder of a 17-year-old in Magistrates’ Court today.
The male defendant, 17, from St George’s, who cannot be named because of a reporting restriction, was accused of murdering Ethan Arruda.
The accused, who allegedly killed Mr Arruda in Devonshire on October 27 last year, was not required to enter a plea because the case must be heard in the Supreme Court.
Magistrate Maria Sofianos adjourned the case to the July arraignments session and released the teenager on $25,000 bail with a surety until that time.
Bail conditions included being fitted with an electronic monitoring device, surrendering all travel documents to the court, attending Hamilton Police Station three times a week and following a daily curfew from 8pm to 8am.
