Man admits importing pepper spray

A man who imported pepper spray into Bermuda will be sentenced in Magistrates’ Court in July.

O’Neil Nelson, 48, admitted importing a container of the weapon, which was “designed or adapted for the discharge of a noxious liquid or gas”, when he appeared in court yesterday.

Nelson also admitted having a knife yesterday, but maintained that he did not import a separate one.

The Smith’s resident initially denied committing all offences on April 27, 2024.

Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson ordered a social inquiry report to be written for Nelson, adjourned the case to July 10 for sentencing and extended his bail until that time.
