Motorist banned from roads
A man who crashed his bike in Devonshire has been disqualified from driving all vehicles for 18 months.
Antonio Palhinha, 47, admitted driving while impaired by alcohol when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
The court heard that Palhinha told police on April 6 that he lost control of the cycle near Middle Road’s junction with Tee Street.
Palhinha, from Devonshire, sustained minor abrasions in the crash and was taken to Hamilton Police Station after he admitted drinking before getting on his bike.
He was fined $1,500 for the offence in addition to being banned.
