‘Dangerous’ rider banned from roads

A bike rider who led police on a chase through Hamilton has been banned for dangerous driving.

Vincent Outerbridge, 51, admitted riding a bike dangerously and not stopping for police when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court heard yesterday.

The court heard that police followed Outerbridge after he ignored a road sign on Front Street on Sunday.

Outerbridge, from Hamilton Parish, rode his unlicensed cycle throughout the City — sometimes against the flow of traffic — and eventually stopped on South Road.

Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson fined Outerbridge $1,750 for the offences and disqualified him from driving all vehicles for 21 months.
