Woman gets road ban after crash
A woman who refused to take a breath test has been disqualified from driving all vehicles for 18 months.
Jaime Acker, 40, admitted not taking the test when she appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
The court heard that Acker, from Southampton, struck a mailbox and pillar on Warwick Park Drive on April 26.
Acker told police that she was looking for her dog after it ran away from home. Officers saw the dog sitting outside Acker’s car when they arrived at the scene.
Officers took Acker to the Hamilton Police Station, where she repeatedly refused to take a breath test.
Acker was fined $1,500 for the offence in addition to the ban.
