Man guilty of stealing thousands from former employer
A man who stole more than $48,000 in merchandise from a petrol station will be sentenced in Magistrates’ Court in August.
Kadeem Abraham, 36, admitted stealing alcohol, cigarettes and food items from the Rubis South Shore station, as well as falsifying account records “in an attempt to gain” $45,876.35 worth of merchandise from the business, when he appeared in court yesterday.
The court heard that Abraham falsified spreadsheets that documented the number of alcohol and cigarette orders at the business, where he was manager, between January and October 2023.
Prosecutor Audley Quallo said the Warwick resident also stole an additional $2,616 worth of merchandise from the station.
Magistrate Craig Attridge ordered a social inquiry report to be written for Abraham, adjourned the case to August 12 for sentencing and released him on $25,000 bail with a surety until that time.
Teddy Terceira, general manager of the station, declined to comment on the case.
