Canadian charged with cannabis importation and possession

A foreign national is accused of conspiring with others to import cannabis into Bermuda.

Sandra Marrero-Guzman, 36, was also charged with having the controlled drug in St George’s when she appeared in Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Ms Marrero-Guzman, from Toronto, allegedly committed the offences on June 20 and was not required to enter pleas yesterday as the case must be heard in the Supreme Court.

Magistrate Craig Attridge adjourned the case to the August arraignments and remanded Ms Marrero-Guzman in custody until that time.
