Man fined and banned from roads

A man who refused to take a breath test has been disqualified from driving all vehicles for 18 months.

Nelson Outerbridge, 34, admitted not taking the test when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

The court heard that police questioned Outerbridge, from Hamilton Parish, after seeing his car on the sidewalk near Ewing Street on May 10.

Officers saw that Outerbridge was unsteady on his feet and smelt alcohol on his breath, but he refused to take a breath test several times.

Outerbridge was fined $1,500 for the offence in addition to being banned.
