US national accused of drug importation, possession
A US national is in custody after he was accused of trafficking drugs to Bermuda.
Ricardo Barnett, 31, was charged in Magistrates’ Court with conspiring with others to bring cannabis to the island between an unknown date and July 30.
He was further charged with possession of cannabis with intent to supply on July 30.
Mr Barnett was not required to enter a plea as the matters must be heard in the Supreme Court.
Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson remanded Mr Barnett, from Texas, in custody.
She adjourned the case until the next Supreme Court arraignments session on September 9.
