Man gets road ban for speeding

A man who drove at more than double the legal speed limit in Devonshire has been banned from driving for seven months.

Shaquan Lovell, 31, admitted speeding at 72km/h when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

Magistrate Craig Attridge fined Lovell $420 for the offence, which he committed on May 14, and added seven points to his licence.

Lovell, from Devonshire, had seven existing demerit points before his appearance yesterday and was banned from the roads based on point accumulation.
