Teenager denies Bermuda Day killing
A teenager has denied responsibility for a Bermuda Day killing and three counts of weapons possession.
Dahny Simmons-Outerbridge, 19, pleaded not guilty in the Supreme Court yesterday to unlawfully killing 20-year-old Zijae Jones, as well as having a knife in an increased penalty zone.
Both charges were alleged to have happened on May 24 last year at Horseshoe Bay in Southampton.
Mr Simmons-Outerbridge further denied having a Smith & Wesson firearm with a 5½in barrel, as well as five rounds of .22 ammunition without a licence.
Those charges related to offences alleged to have happened on November 25 last year in Warwick.
Puisne Judge Alan Richards adjourned the case until September 11 for a case management hearing.
He also set a tentative trial date of February 9 next year.
Mr Richards remanded Mr Simmons-Outerbridge, from Warwick, in custody.
