A man has been fined $300 for using a handheld device while driving.
Stefano Troja, 37, admitted the offence when he appeared in in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
Troja, from Sandys, committed the offence on Union Street and Dundonald Street in Hamilton on September 23.
The court heard he already had six demerit points on his licence for a similar offence.
Magistrate Maria Sofianos added six additional points to Troja’s licence and warned that he could be banned from driving if he received any more.
