No evidence offered in knife case

Prosecutors have offered no evidence against a man charged with having a knife on Front Street.

Victor Fabian-Brito, 62, from St George’s, was remanded in custody after he initially admitted the offence in Magistrates’ Court in July.

However, prosecutor Matthew Frick said yesterday that Elizabeth Christopher, Fabian-Brito’s lawyer, applied to vacate the guilty plea and submitted a defence statement on October 6.

Mr Frick told The Royal Gazette: “As a result of the defence statement provided, the Crown made the decision to offer no further evidence on the matter.”
