Man charged with taking, sexually assaulting girl
A Pembroke man was remanded today after being charged with taking a girl from her mother’s custody and protection.
The man, 26, was also accused of sexually assaulting and supplying cannabis to the same alleged victim, aged between 14 and 16, when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court.
Neither the accused nor the girl can be identified for legal reasons.
The man, who allegedly committed the offences between September 17 and October 18, was not required to plead today, as the case must be heard in the Supreme Court.
Magistrate Auralee Cassidy adjourned the case to the November arraignments session and remanded the man in custody until that time.
